Existing Lubricant Storage Situation

The site stored 22 non foodgrade and foodgrade products from 6 different manufacturers, with a challenging storage and stock control system. Up to 12 of these products were not NSF registered and therefore not compliant in audit situations.

The solution

Introduction of System8®

A System8® free eight week trial was concluded very successfully on site, reducing the lubricant & Maintenance aerosol stock holding by c70%, giving an average saving of 4536.00 GBP per annum, moving on to superior performance foodgrade products and at the same time removing all the non-food lubricants from site.

Rationalisation of inventory from 22 lubricants to 6 foodgrade registered specialist products. Rationalisation of manufacturers from 6 to 1. A system of control, providing colour coding and a dispensing system, enabling accurate selection of correct lubricant.
The system comes complete with a stainless steel stand & collection bund in the event of a spillage, each oil has its own measuring / pouring jugs & pump units & each grease has its own gun. Full training is also given by the Activate staff on its full use and cross reference to existing oils & greases.
The system is easily maintained and in full view in the maintenance workshop (not hidden away in a grubby & dark metal store room with other chemicals & compromising products).
