Lubrication trial: detailed feedback from Chief Engineer!

We recently had a very detailed piece of feedback from a customer who had just finished a trial of Activate food grade lubricants and management systems and thought we would share it with you. It makes for an interesting mini case study!

A leading fresh food supplier to UK multiple retailers, audit compliance was top priority (the most stringent audits being BRC and Tesco) and the company were looking to up their game with regard to lubrication culture. Their top four criteria were: 1) Food grade, 2) Visuals, 3) Ease of use, and 4) Quality of product.

The Chief Engineer had this to say following the Activate lubrication trial:

"We’re at the end of the Activate Lubrication trial I thought I’d send over some info and feedback. We haven’t yet used every product that was supplied but what we have used is good quality and the system itself is really good!

Activate is always more competitive on ‘like for like’ offerings compared to 3rd party MRO suppliers and more cost-effective due to the reduction of products we need to keep in stock. Your products have a broader range of applications than those of our previous supplier which has allowed us to significantly rationalise our oil store.

For example, the Activate Degreaser aerosol doubles as a contact cleaner because it is solvent based, so we no longer need to stock a separate contact cleaner. In fact, we now have just eight Activate aerosols in the cabinet where we would have had maybe 12 or more previously.

The system is easier to use due to its colour coding and much tidier as everything is neatly labelled and has its specific place in the cabinet. The folder inside contains all the SDS and Allergen statements, etc, and Activate automatically send the latest updates when necessary to keep it all audit compliant, so we don't have to worry.

All the engineers feel that this is an improvement on our previous lubrication culture. Having a straight-forward system in place makes things so much easier and efficient."

The value of this feedback for us is that it shows the intention behind what we do is realising itself in the 'field', i.e. Activate systems are indeed making engineers' lives easier, rationalising lubricant stocks while ensuring a 100% food grade inventory, and guaranteeing audit compliance.

Another huge benefit of using Activate is the increased reliability (resulting in significantly reduced downtime) enabled by using correctly applied, high-quality lubricants. It's too early to illustrate this with the aforementioned client but, with a big 'thumbs up' from the engineers to continue with Activate Lubricants following their successful trial, we will hopefully catch up with them soon to see some exciting data!
